Solar ship
October 25, 2008
French skipper Gerard d’Aboville and Swiss company Planet Solar have recently presented digital model of solar ship in Bern (Switzerland).
Company Planet Solar tries its best to show that humankind has not yet lost opportunities for changes, above all, they stress that solutions and new energy sources exists. One of such solutions is also mentioned solar ship (30 meter wide catamaran) covered by 470 m² of solar cells upon its deck.
It is the first solar ship that should be able to sail around the world (in the year 2010) with no additional energy, except using energy from the sun. French skipper Gerard d’Aboville is going to be the lucky man as the only crew member on the ship.

As cult adventurous writer Jules Verne had already predicted that one day man would be capable of destroying everything or saving everything…
